The double rotary tablet press incorporating containment equipment is now available: Fette’s 3090i WiP Containment. The press combines highly productive, double-sided rotary press technology with the benefits of WiP capability – and now with containment equipment too – in a standard solution. The compression compartment is dustproof and waterproof, and contaminated particles therefore cannot escape. An OEL of 0.1 µg/m3 over an average of eight hours production is guaranteed. The entire compression compartment can be reached manually through eight large gloveports at three window flaps. A WiP Centre supplies all the washing equipment on the press, in the isolators and for the peripheral units they contain. Material is fed in through a split-valve system which permits the material container to be attached and removed without generating any contamination. An RTP is integrated into the window flap as the interface for the tablet outlet to the isolator, thus facilitating secure, encapsulated product discharge. A second RTP serves as a material lock for moving tools and samples in or out, and this means safe handling under operating conditions. The unit runs under negative pressure, and the air management system for the system’s air flow offers a high level of safety by filtering the exhaust air through a Fette Absolut dust filtration system.
