The Buraflex 2000 HT compression packing from EagleBurgmann is a general-purpose, high-performance stuffing box packing which is particularly suitable for installation in pumps, e. g. in valves and fittings, agitators or fans. The braided packing is made of permanently elastic, expanded pure graphite foil in combination with protective edge reinforcement and a high-performance lubricant. The Buraflex is designed for the highest demands in rotating applications with up to 40 m/s peripheral speed and a maximum 60 bar pressure from the medium. Its outstanding sliding qualities also result in substantial improvements in friction values when used in valves and fittings, e. g. in control valves. Other quality characteristics include outstanding cross-sectional sealing and structural strength. Due to the good properties of the base material, this compression packing can be applied at high temperatures (+250 °C) without any problems. The use of innovative materials has produced an extremely flexible and resistant packing which is also suitable for applications with abrasive constituents.
