Communication without boundaries

The end of land line dependency
Communication without boundaries

The availability of information is made easier and location-independent by using mobile terminals. An entirely new quality of mobile business is achieved with the high level of integration of mobile data capture (MDC) and automated data capture (ADC) within an existing ERP system landscape.

Customer and vendor proximity has become a decisive competitive advantage as a result of cost-efficient, real-time processing of business transactions. New technology, innovative devices and optimised services allow future-oriented mobility by merging location and time-independent data capture with central availability of all collected information. The integrated m-business (M-ERP) in the CSB-System offers a fitting solution attuned to specific business needs. It facilitates data entry at source – for example at the customer or supplier, by the sales rep or in route accounting as well as in the warehouse, on the production floor, in purchasing, picking or shipping – creating direct access through the central ERP system. Enterprises are prepared to meet increased pressure from the market, because it adds significant speed to response times, makes information available anywhere at any time and reduces costs.

M-ERP creates flexibility
With the mobile business application, companies can add tremendous agility to workforce deployment. Armed with state-of-the-art mobile data capture technology, people in the field no longer need to engage in error-prone double entries but can capture and access all necessary information right at the heart of the business process. All data is captured and retrieved online and near real time as a result of direct communication with the centrally managed ERP system. Various terminals are available to help achieve a higher degree of mobility:
  • Laptop, notebook, subnotebook, tablet PC
  • Business handhelds, PDAs
  • Industrial handhelds
  • Java-capable smartphones and cellphones
The CSB-System has an extensive range of options for all variants, including mobile scanning and printing using Bluetooth technology. Users can choose from a wide range of input devices, such as keypad or voice entry via pick-by-voice. Communication with the ERP system can take place online as well as offline via the Internet or a Wide Area Network, or by exchanging data packets in a timely fashion, e.g. by e-mail.
Laptops, notebooks, subnotebooks, tablet PCs
The laptop or notebook solution meets the specific needs of executives and field service agents in the mobile service and support sector. Data synchronisation takes place via a simple Internet connection every time the user signs on. In addition, all data a field service agent enters is immediately updated in the central system. In compliance with user authorisations, service agents can enter orders, adjust customer information, manage customer order ranges and so on – always on the basis of data that is absolutely up-to-date.
Business handhelds, PDAs
The CSB-System offers a comprehensive solution for business handhelds running on Windows CE. These solutions enable communication with the central ERP system online or near real time. The solution integrates mobile master data applications as well as goods receipt, inventory movement, physical inventory, order entry, shipping, batch processing, returns management, cash book administration, and palletisation modules.
Industrial handhelds
Industrial handhelds avail of the same comprehensive M-ERP functions and applications in the CSB-System as business handhelds. Industrial handhelds are characterised especially by their robustness and their unlimited capability to operate under rugged conditions (humidity, cold, heat, dust, etc.). On top of this, a scanner and keypad are already integrated.
Java-capable smartphones and cellphones
Java-capable smartphones and cellphones in combination with the CSB-System can lead to significant cost savings for a vast range of applications. Users benefit from a high level of investment protection. The hardware independence of the CSB-System allows user companies to either retain their existing hardware or individually procure cost-efficient hardware. The features that can be realised with a smartphone or cellphone are very attractive. The integrated camera can be used to scan item data. M-ERP in the CSB-System offers a vast array of options, for example in the areas of quality management and reusable transport packaging handling. M-ERP is easy to operate and has short a learning curve; simple cellphone functions and brief introductory training are sufficient to start using it in daily practice. The M-ERP product portfolio encompasses:
  • M-Store
  • M-Sales
  • M-Supply
  • M-Inventory
  • M-Logistics
  • M-Data Administration
  • M-QM (Quality Management)
High-performance functionality
Apart from the high level of flexibility, m-business in the CSB-System is characterised by seamless integration into the ERP environment, yielding a true M-ERP. This is why data is always up-to-date. Necessary information can be retrieved, edited and returned by a mobile terminal device independently of geographical locations or time zones. The unified communication platform ensures that the exchange of information is always safeguarded, regardless of which variant is used. In addition, users can view their appointments or use their e-mail client. Each variant is easy to operate and quickly learned. This is due to the fact that the standardised CSB-System user interface is employed throughout and that the applications can be easily adapted to individual user requirements by means of simple parameter settings.
