The Sterilobe range of rotary lobe pumps from Johnson Pump has set a new standard, with a 0.6 µRa internal finish that is inherently cleaner than most other rotary lobe pumps. The internal finish can be further enhanced by electro polishing and passivation if required. Sterilobe pumps are cleaner on the outside too – the stainless steel gearbox cover and nickel plated bearing housing eliminate the risk of corrosion and ensure a clean appearance throughout the pump’s working life. Available in 15 displacements and eight frame sizes for pumped volumes from 0.04 through to 6.4 l/rev at differential pres-sures to 15 bar, Sterilobe pumps are self draining and suitable for hygienic or industrial applications. They can handle viscosities to 1,000 Pas at temperatures of up to 150 °C. The pumps are available with either bi-wing and multi-lobe rotors in 316L stainless steel. The range conforms to all the relevant EHEDG and 3A certification requirements and, in the critical area of the mechanical seal, exceeds the design criteria. For applications in hazardous environments, Sterilobe pumps are available with Atex certification.
