The range of subjects at Ifat China, which takes place from 29 June to 2 July 2004 in Shanghai for the first time, meets the requirements of the growing ecology market in China. Apart from water supply and sewage, waste disposal and recycling, the programme therefore includes subjects such as exhaust gas cleaning and exhaust air decontamination, noise reduction and noise control as well as information on environmentally compatible forms of energy. Thus Ifat China positions itself with a comprehensive product range and offers practice-oriented solutions for local supply and waste disposal, public and private companies, trade and service providers as well as scientists and technicians.
Particularly in view of the Olympic Games 2008 and the World Exhibition which is planned for the year 2010, the government of the People’s Republic of China advocates reforms with the aim of improving waste water disposal, reducing air pollution in conurbations and promoting environmental protection. In addition, the ecology market has been opened up to investors. The Chinese ecology market thus offers enormous opportunities for the coming years. Under the tenth five-year plan, an investment total of US$ 85 billion is expected for the years 2001 to 2005; this corresponds to 1.3 % of gross national product (source: German Industry & Commerce Shanghai).
