Certified as a testing and calibration laboratory

In December 2003, the laboratory at the specialty gases works of Messer in Krefeld-Gellep received accreditation as a calibration laboratory from the German Calibration Service (DKD Deutscher Kalibrierdienst) of the National German Metrology Institute (PTB Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt) in Braunschweig. For the second time since 1998, the Krefeld works also received its reaccreditation as a testing laboratory from the DAP (Deutsches Akkreditierungssystem Prüfwesen). Both certificates are valid for five years, but they are reviewed annually and have to be re-applied after five years. These accreditations are a formal recognition of the professional competence of Messer’s analytical laboratories. This means that Messer’s gases and gas mixtures themselves are recognized reference materials for analyses by gas users.
