Canned motor pumps for pumping liquid gas
Single and multi-stage immersion pumps with a canned motor are available in the Hermetic product range. They achieve flow rates of maximum 1600 m³/h and a differential head of up to 1200 m. The canned motor and the pump hydraulics form a compact unit with a short shaft that is completely immersed in the tank. The immersion depth may be designed individually, and the corresponding pot carriers can be delivered on demand. As canned motor pumps are designed without failure-prone shaft seals, couplings and antifriction or guide bearings, they are preferred for applications, where reliability and availability of the pumps is a clear priority. This is the case in the reported application of the canned motor pumps for transporting C4 isobutane mixtures through a pipeline of a length of 10 km. This pipeline was built between a petroleum-processing company in Gelsenkirchen-Scholven and the chemical park in Marl, where the substance mixture is used for plastics production.
