All together under one roof

Ten flagship fairs for the entire world of industry
All together under one roof

The latest developments, topics and trends in industry are presented this year at Hannover Messe from 21 to 25 April. The outstanding feature of the show is its broad-spectrum coverage of many different industries, creating a dynamic climate in which new ideas are born and new contacts made. The Hannover Messe line-up for 2008 consists of ten flagship international trade fairs: Interkama+, Factory Automation, Industrial Building Automation, Digital Factory, Subcontracting, Energy, Pipeline Technology, Power Plant Technology, Microtechnology and Research & Technology. The headline themes of Hannover Messe 2008 are industrial automation, energy technologies, subcontracting and services, and new technologies for the future. At the same time the show is also targeting school-leavers and students with its special youth-oriented presentation “TectoYou“. A new addition to the program is the trade fair Power Plant Technology. And featured for the first time is the display category “Mobile Robots and Autonomous Systems“.

Interkama+ covers all aspects of automation in the process industries – from individual components to complete automation solutions, as well as engineering and maintenance services. New themes for 2008 include WirelessHart, analytical instrumentation and plant simulation, plus the special presentations “Hygenic Design“ & “Cleanroom Technology“. The main focus is on the pres-entation of complete systems solutions developed for the major industrial users: chemicals and pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, food and semi-luxuries, mechanical and plant engineering, cellulose, utility supply and waste disposal, and the iron and steel industry. In Hall 6, wireless communications technologies such as Bluetooth, ZigBee, WLAN and WirelessHart will be taking center stage. Further additions to the program include GSM and UMTS mobile telephony solutions for remote maintenance and system monitoring.
Energy saving is obviously a top priority for industry today, not only in order to protect the environment but also as a way of getting a step ahead of the competition. Cutting-edge technology could result in savings of up to 90 % in the life-cycle costs of individual components such as electric motors, and up to 70 % in ancillary equipment including pumps, fans, compressed air technology and cooling systems. Hannover Messe will offer valuable advice on how to achieve this in the brand-new “Energy Efficiency Tunnel“ in Hall 6. Visitors can enjoy a truly interactive experience and use various systems to identify potential savings. They will have the opportunity to follow a complete production process. Displays and terminals work out potential savings and cost newly entered requirements on the spot. And for anyone who still feels a little in the dark, there is light at the end of the tunnel – light shed on the subject by energy experts from the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) and the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers‘ Association (ZVEI).
