Stäubli present their completely redesigned Scara robot arms, which are now also suited for clean room applications. These four-axis machines are equipped with the company’s proprietary hollow shaft drives, which are characterised by the absence of any external cabling. All media and supply lines are located inside the machine, thus there are no irregular contours, sources of mechanical failure or avoidable particle emissions. Furthermore, hygienic design is achieved by completely sealed housing, the quill optionally protected with a cover and affixed with special screws, concealed connections under the robot pedestal (if desired) and the exclusion of dead spaces. The robot arm comes in four sizes with working radii from 400 to 1000 mm. Besides the standard model, different versions for pharma and food applications are announced.
