The Minimesh RPD Hiflo-S filter medium is manufactured using a special weaving technology developed by Haver & Boecker, which results in a three-dimensional pore geometry. Compared to conventional filter cloth having the same pore size, the three-dimensional pore geometry increases the open surface area significantly. In addition, the flow conditions are optimised and turbulence around the filter cloth is avoided. The pore size within a batch can be calibrated from 5 to 40 μm. As this cloth can be woven from standard diameter wires, the fabrication is also opened up for special materials like Avesta, Hastelloy, Inconel or titanium. Until now, fabrication of meshes below 40 µm has not been possible with these materials. The depth structure of the three-dimensional meshes offers a high separation effect as well as a high dirt holding capacity without rapid blending.
