The carton erector SFS 350 from Schäfer & Flottmann is completely servo-driven, and prepares up to 60 cartons per minute from flat blanks. In a wrap-around procedure they are folded and glued around a mandrel. Separation and positioning of the blanks onto the folding mandrel is made by means of vacuum suction-cups. After folding of the side flaps the carton blank in the first station will first be folded tubular whilst being glued. Afterwards, the bottom part is closed and the finished case, top side open, will be discharged for loading. The machine with infinitely variable capacity and visualisation of the actual state by graphic screen is characterised by its high format flexibility. Cases can be produced with inner dimensions of 122 x 87 x 160 mm up to 407 x 309 x 400 mm, in square as well as in octagonal design. The quick and easy format changeover is made by spindles – optionally also fully automatic by servomotors.
