Combined nanoparticle and fine dust analysis

Combined nanoparticle and fine dust analysis
The Palas U-range 2000 combines a U-SMPS (scanning mobility particle sizer) with the fine dust monitoring device Fidas 200 for the continuous measurement of airborne particles in the size range of 4 nm to 40 µm. The nanoparticle sizer consists of a classifier, which selects nano-particles according to their electrical mobility, and a condensation particle counter. The fine dust monitoring device has been certified by TÜV Rheinland and is approved for monitoring by regulatory authorities. The measuring principle is based on optical light scattering. In addition to the determination of the PM fractions PM1, PM2.5, PM4, PM10 and PMtot it continuously and simultaneously determines the particle size distribution in the size range of 180 nm to 40 µm. The combined system is operated by means of a graphical user interface on a touch screen. It enables the reso-lution of up to 128 size channels per decade. It is usually used as stand-alone device, but may also be connected to a computer via various interfaces.
