K 2016 in Düsseldorf fully booked

Demographic growth worldwide, increasing urbanisation, rising energy consumption, dwindling resources and climate change – there are a host of challenges to master in this day and age. Creative minds, innovative technologies and high-performance materials will be vital to succeed. The plastics and rubber industry will come together from October 19 to 26, 2016 at K 2016 in Düsseldorf to present some novel solutions. As the global flagship fair for this sector, K unites central industry trends and future fields at a single venue. It has long become established as the innovation and business platform – not only for raw materials producers, manufacturers of plastics and rubber machinery and processors but also for stakeholders from the key user industries.
This year, once again, K 2016 is fully booked. More than 3100 exhibitors from 60 nations will be taking part and showing their products and services. The industry’s core business areas will be neatly grouped in the exhibition’s 19 halls: machines and equipment, raw materials and auxiliaries, semi-finished products, technical parts and reinforced plastics and services. Our Special Subject section on K starts on page 20.
Adapting to the changing conditions in the international markets of the plastics industry is not a problem for the German company Zeppelin Systems. Those changes, however, now occur much more frequently than ever before. In order to maintain control over costs and time, plant engineering companies have to adjust too – for instance, by pushing ahead with digitisation. Turn to page 20 to find out which concepts and tools are best suited for this purpose.
